Wei Wuxian and his Misadventures at Hogwarts

Wei Wuxian and his Misadventures at Hogwarts

Indelible Quill

It was a dreary October 1st when Wei Wuxian casually discarded his wand into the black lake and took to officially declare his Chenqing as his “weapon of choice”, much to Minerva Mcgonagall's irritation.

He moved around the cavernous hallways swinging and playing Chenqing in turn. Poor inhabitants, living and dead alike, begged for him to stop. But Wei Wuxian was ever more determined in mastering his atrocious playing.

He kept at it till an irate Hermione Granger took the instru-weapon out of his hands by an Accio. With his own discarded wand at that. Aghast at this mistreatment of his precious "weapon", the self-proclaimed genius wizard drew his breath to start a magnificent argu-battle of words with the bushy-haired witch when a non-verbal Silencio took him down. Hermione raised her eyebrows. It was a rare day to see the Wen witch break a major rule inside Hogwarts grounds much less in the castle itself.

Web Qing could see the question in Hermione’s eyes but was too pissed at Wei Ying for leading her younger brother astray to answer. Who would think that puke-flavoured beans from Bertie botts' every flavour beans were good for health ?! Why would they think so?! Just how gullible was Wen Ning?!

But Wei Wuxian was not to be stopped. Determined to win this round, he pursued his lips in order to whistle when he felt his mouth zip closed.

"Mm mh!" He said indignantly, turning to see a wand embellished in silver swirls pointed at him. The unique piece of wood was held by the yummilicious hands - focus Wei Ying - of the expressionless Lan Wangji, a 6th Year who could give Severus Snape a run for his robe swishing ability across the halls and long corridors of Hogwarts.

That was where the resemblance ended though. It would be a blasphemy to hold Lan Zhan with the hook-nosed Potions Bas-Master. Wei Wuxian mentally slapped himself. This was not the time to drool over Lan Zhan and his superior looks. Not when he was standing opposite his wand. He sneaked a glance at the two witches. At least, he thought he did. Hermione rolled her eyes at his attempt at being covert. Lan Zhan remained expressionless. Wen Qing sighed, feeling a headache incoming. She should have used the Stunning Spell. A world of scolding awaited them at Professor Mcgonagall's office.

If it were upto Wei Wuxian then he could have easily spent his entire day standing there ogling, no staring, at Lan Zhan but alas, the world-and Lan Zhan had different ideas.

"Wei Ying." Lan Zhan intoned in his deep gravelly voice. It did things to his stomach. Things that often led to restless, sleepless nights. Things that were both uncomfortable and pleasant at the same time. He unconsciously pressed his fingers to locate the wayward turnings and pressed them in a half-assed attempt at pushing them down. He could feel the exasperated looks of Wen Qing and Hermione and if there was one thing that he had mastered over time in this part of the world then it was the act of being singularly and passionately focused (being a single minded idiot as his younger brother often said. Not that he was one, mind you. Jiang Cheng just showed love for his adopted brother in that way) on one thing.

Where was he again? Oh right! He ignored the witches and looked upon the moon face of Lan Zhan.

"Wei Ying, come." Lan Zhan repeated.

Wei Wuxian felt an electric current pass through his body at the deeply sensual voice of the superbly sexy Lan Zhan. Alas, the boy with the envious locks would hardly pay him attention except maybe when he was pissed off due to Wei Wuxian's various shenanigans. Wei Wuxian pouted athim, wondering why he was called the demon when he caused less troubles than that scrawny British boy, Parry Otter or Darry Trotter or Hairy Hotter - whatever his name was. If that person was the Boy Who Lived then Wei Wuxian was the Boy Who Rebelled Against Wands because those flimsy sticks held nothing against his beloved Chenqing, in his not-very-humble opinion.

And the Boy Who Lived appeared at the end of the corridor. With his red-haired friend at side.

Bright green eyes took in the situation before Harry's lips curled into a wry smile.

Wei Wuxian felt the first taste of dread. Despite being a mostly unassuming person, the Boy Who Lived never failed to make him feel cautious. Perhaps it was the fact that he had been their teacher last year and thus showed them his skills first hand. Or, maybe it was the fact that he was the son and godson of the prankster gods of Hogwarts.

Now no matter what his younger brother said about his intellect and his amazing ability to land himself in landmine situations, Wei Wuxian knew when to be cautious and when to be stupidly brave. So kept his eyes on the Boy Who Lived and snatched his beloved Chenqing away from Hermione.

Knowing that he cannot make Lan Zhan - and Professor McGonagall, the self-preserving part of his brain whispered- wait any longer, he twirled Chenqing and walked purposefully-skipped-to Lan Zhan. They went in the opposite direction from the troublesome duo of Potter and Weasley.

As the two contrasting figure walked away, robes swishing (dramatically in case of Lan Wangji) and hair flying, Wen Qing came to stand beside Hermione. Both stared at the two boys who could easily carry an equivalent of an entire pine forest between them.

Wen Qing threw a sidelong glance at the girl beside her.

"Are we still up for tonight?" She asked, trying and failing to be casual.

Hermione met her eyes and smirked.

"You bet I am."

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji walked silently side by side along the corridors leading to his punishment. It was strange, if it were anyone other than Lan Zhan then Wei Wuxian would had run away by now. But even knowing that he would meet a cruel fate at the hands of the very scary professor, he was fairly chirpy.

He just liked being around Lan Zhan.

They came to a stop in front of the big ominous door. Lan Zhan turned to look at him. His beautiful somber face befuddled his mind and slowed down his crazy racing thoughts.

"If Wei Ying wants to learn, meet me at the common rooms tomorrow." He said and without waiting for his reply, walked away.

Wei Wuxian stood stock still, gaping like a complete fool.

Even the sound of the door opening and Professor McGonagall pointed throat clearing was not enough to rouse Wei Wuxian out of his Lan Zhan hazed stupor.

"Mr. Wei!" Professor said loudly, startling Wei Wuxian like a leaf in a storm.

Wei Wuxian turned and blinked at the woman. He followed her gesture to get inside, perched quietly at the chair in front of the huge desk and heard absolutely nothing of the Professor's speech.

His mind kept repeating: Lan Zhan wants to see me tomorrow.

Lan Zhan....

And so on.

Wei Wuxian's hold tightened on Chenqing as he petted the weapon-ahem-instrument which helped him to achieve a goal he had no idea he had.

No way in hell was he going to let this precious chance go to waste.

Thus was the day when Wei Wuxian finally gained a chance to spend more time with the beautiful and impeccable Lan Wangji.

Or in other words, how Wei Wuxian decided to forsake the wand and play a flute to gain Lan Wangji's attention.
